Micro Power Generators
Energy storage with high specific power densities is a key factor in present and future space & military technology. AIT is developing miniaturized chemical propulsions systems using only green propellants (no toxicity). In a monopropellant version, advaned catalyst beds are used with and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). In a bi-propellant version, Kerosine is used together with H2O2 in a micro combustor to achieve even higher power densities. The energy required to operate the micropumps is generated with a micro turbine (see Fig. 1) which was developed to work in the high-temperature regime of the decomposed hydrogen peroxide.

These micro-propulsion systems developed could be transferred into high-power green energy cell with at least similar specific power and weight densities as Li-Ion batteries but with additional features (see Fig. 2):
- Immediate refill capability – fully recharge your energy cell within 5 seconds.
- Provide internal heat e.g. for high altitude UAVs
- Provide clean water – dual use capability
The micro turbine generator could be also used in many other applications too.
